A lot of people here report mod specific bugs/glitches to Templar and keep the vanilla ones in feedback threads. Yet I can also identify that the freezing AI glitch is also vanilla. For example, the crashing issue with Templar's recent "patch" that helped cure the performance issues (it's pretty obvious considering it crashed by pressing F1). It's pretty easy to establish when the mod has caused a bug compared to a vanilla one. We purchase this game to enjoy it in it's early state and to also help support the developers further their project, but we can't exactly help that if we're not having fun, otherwise most people wouldn't be motivated to bug report, etc.Īlso, this mod doesn't extremely change the nature of the game in such a way that you'd find a lot of bugs unique to this. However, the "enjoyment" thing is ridiculous. I see what you mean and I agree with some part of it. Overall i think the mod takes away the "boring" aspect of testing, and i don't see that as a bad thing because it keeps people interested and playing the game and that is the best PR the devs could ask for. However!! ::holds her finger up:: When all my testing and running through new stuff is completed, i then will see what TemplarGFX has in store for me.and i have fun with this mod.īesides, the Devs have encouraged mods and i think if it was getting in the way of their bug fixing they would say to hold off on the mods until further notice. I enjoy playing the vanilla version quite a bit, and play and test on them extensively. I do not agree with your idea this is not the enjoyment stage of the game. I am sure the Devs look them over and go " hmm.okay, that is something we need to look at", Sometimes the Devs are fully aware of glitches, but choose to not fix until a later date. What i have seen so far is that if there is a bug or glitch, the masses and I do means MASSES of people will immediately post on these forums about it. I think the game should be tested in it's vanilla version to find the bugs, the glitches etc and be reported to the devs. Bug reports with mods installed should not be done, grant you that. People do have issues when a new patch breaks and are using old mods, they may or may not report them to the Devs, however most do report mod problems to the mods. I feel a lot of people who have issues every new update is due to them forgetting they have a mod installed To anyone who is using a mod, please don't submit any bug reports unless you're sure you uninstalled it completely Originally posted by Shadow:Mods are nice and all but in the end it can just end up hurting the game and people more than helping it at this stage where they need people to test the game and give them Vanilla bug reports. What else do people REALLY want in a mod? Please keep in mind that some of the features of the mod previously were so complicated I am not going to bother with those again (like all the graphical modification keys, and the changes to the phone)Īlso, currently there is no marking on the menu to tell you the mod is installed. tell me if things are still working as expected. Possible to get more Vags and Armsy above ground at any timeĬreative mode (currently always on, and currently doesn't remove the required items from the hud) Less Mutants on the first few days, many more after a week Standard Combat more varied and more likely to break offĭefensive Combat more likely to break off, more likely to attack from flanksĭaytime Searching further, and remember player longerĭaytime Stalking from further away, more likely to use treesĭefault Stalking from further away, more likely to back off and to use trees Unzip into The Forest folder, it will replace 1 file (to revert your game, use Steams Local Verification) So I have decided to try my hand at modding The Forest again! I get soo many requests every single day I just can't take it anymore LOLīecause Im not really playing the game much at the moment, and the game has changes SO MUCH code-wise since I last modded, I need people to try things out for me
